We understand how important it is to invest in developing our staff in order to provide effective, safe and high-quality care. That’s why as soon as you join our Trust your learning and development journey will begin, and will continue throughout your career with us.


With a dedicated Education Department, we provide a broad range of learning and development opportunities, for both clinical and non-clinical staff, and access to excellent resources:

 Induction programme – on your very first day you will attend a comprehensive induction programme, introducing you to the Trust.

 Personal development plans – your manager will support you to create and regularly review your personal development plan. You will receive an annual appraisal, providing a formal framework to discuss performance and personal development needs.

Mandatory refresher training – you will be provided with mandatory training around important patient-safety related topics, helping to ensure you continue to deliver excellent care. This is delivered in a variety of ways such as e-learning, face-to-face, and videos.

e-learning – you will have access to an online system where you can manage your training and complete e-learning courses.

Leadership and management programmes – you will be able to access a range of management skills workshops and courses.

 Simulation centre – our Clinical Skills Lab facility provides a realistic ward-like environment where you can learn new techniques and procedures with your clinical colleagues together in a multi-professional setting.

Healthcare library – you will be able to access a wealth of resources through our library, with 24/7 access available to all Trust staff.
